📋 1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how VeraLens, developed by Isman App Studio, handles your information when you use our Android application.
By using VeraLens, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.
📦 2. Information We Collect
VeraLens is designed to work without requiring any personal account or registration. We collect only what is strictly necessary for the app to function:
- Images you scan — photos taken or uploaded for AI analysis. These are sent to Google's Gemini API for processing and are not stored by us.
- Scan history — results of your scans are saved locally on your device using Hive database. We cannot access this data.
- Country and language preference — stored locally on your device to personalize AI responses.
- Ad interactions — Google AdMob may collect anonymous usage data for ad delivery. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
🚫 3. What We Do NOT Collect
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Your location or GPS data
- Contacts, messages, or call logs
- Device identifiers beyond what AdMob requires
- Any data from your camera beyond the image you choose to scan
🤖 4. AI Analysis — Google Gemini API
When you scan a product, food item, cosmetic, or QR code, the image is sent to Google Gemini 2.5 Flash API for AI-powered analysis. This process is governed by Google's own privacy and data policies.
Images are used only for real-time analysis and are not stored on any VeraLens server. We do not maintain any server infrastructure.

📱 5. Local Data Storage
All scan results and app preferences are stored only on your device using Hive local database. This data never leaves your phone unless you explicitly share a report.
You can delete all stored data at any time by going to Settings → Clear History inside the app.
📣 6. Advertising
VeraLens displays banner ads powered by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID to show relevant ads. This is standard practice and is handled entirely by Google.
You can opt out of personalized ads in your Android device settings under Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
🔐 7. Permissions
VeraLens requests only the permissions required for core features:
- Camera — to capture product, food, or QR images for scanning
- Storage / Media — to save downloaded scan reports to your gallery
- Internet — to connect to Gemini API for AI analysis and load ads
👶 8. Children's Privacy
VeraLens is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has used this app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
🌍 9. International Users
VeraLens is designed for users in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Indonesia, and other South Asian and Southeast Asian markets. By using this app, you consent to your image data being processed by Google Gemini API, which may operate in different countries.
📝 10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
